EZStudRack shelf brackets works with shelf sizes 1x4 (3/4" x 4-1/2"), 1x6 (3/4" x 5-1/2"), 1x8 (3/4" x 7-1/4"), 1x10 (3/4" x 9-1/4"), or any 3/4" thick wood shelf. While frames can be built out of any type of wood, we'd still recommend 2x4, 2x6, 1x4, 1x6, etc.
